SE OPONE MÉXICO A LA INMIGRACIÓN ‘ILEGAL’ A EU: CÓNSUL / DIARIO DE JUÁREZ
México no está a favor de la inmigración no autorizada de sus ciudadanos hacia Estados Unidos, ya que es un acto que expone a peligros a los migrantes y da una idea errónea de la realidad de su país, dijo Marcos Bucio Mújica, el nuevo cónsul general de México en El Paso. “La migración ilegal da mala imagen a los mexicanos, porque se relaciona con actos ilícitos”, dijo Bucio, agregando que el Gobierno está a favor de los movimientos de población por los canales legales establecidos.

ASISTE SRE A ALPINISTA SOBREVIVIENTE DE AVALANCHA EN PERÚ / ANDREA MERAZ / EXCELSIOR
La titular de la Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores (SRE), Claudia Ruiz Massieu, confirmó que fue encontrado el cuerpo de un alpinista en la montaña de Huascarán, en Perú, donde un grupo de excursionistas fue sorprendido por una avalancha, entre ellos tres mexicanos. Sin embargo, la canciller, advirtió que hasta el momento no se ha confirmado la identidad de la persona.

ARRESTAN A 112 INMIGRANTES CON ANTECEDENTES EN SUR DE CALIFORNIA / LA CRÓNICA
Durante una redada en el sur de California agentes del orden arrestaron a 112 inmigrantes que cuentan con antecedentes criminales, informaron hoy voceros de la Oficina de Inmigración y Ciudadanía (ICE). Indicaron que las detenciones se llevaron a cabo en diversos operativos realizados en los últimos cuatro días en los condados de Los Ángeles, Riverside, San Bernardino y Orange.

OBAMA DEFIES TRUMP WITH MEXICAN LEADER'S VISIT AFTER CONVENTION / CHICAGO TRIBUNE
President Barack Obama and Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto reaffirmed the importance of the US-Mexico relationship Friday, promoting the benefits of trade and friendship in an election year that has sometimes stressed that alliance. The shooting of a man who didn't speak English by a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer in Mississippi is under investigation, authorities said. Laurel Police Capt. Tommy Cox said city officers called ICE after a Wednesday night traffic stop of a man who didn't speak English. ICE spokesman Bryan Cox told WDAM-TV, that the ICE officer, whom he didn't name, ordered the man to stop in English and Spanish.

UK POLICE SAY ALMOST 6,200 HATE CRIMES IN MONTH AFTER BREXIT VOTE / THE NEW YORK TIMES
British police said on Friday there had been almost 6,200 hate crimes reported in the last month following the vote to leave the European Union in a referendum where immigration had been a key issue. In the four weeks from June 16, police forces across the country said 6,193 offences had been reported, with the most common crimes being harassment, assault and other violence such as verbal abuse or spitting.

BRAZILIAN IMMIGRANTS IN THE UNITED STATES / JIE ZONG AND JEANNE BATALOVA / MPI
Brazilian migration to the United States—a relatively small flow until recent decades—began to grow significantly in the early 1980s, driven in large part by a series of economic crises in Brazil. The Brazilian immigrant population in the United States doubled during the 1980s, almost tripled in the 1990s, and then stabilized following the Great Recession of 2007-09 (see Figure 1).
